Rooted in depth, diversity, and community, the DWD x Soulga 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training offers a transformative and comprehensive journey for yoga teachers ready to grow. Led by three powerhouse women, this training brings together an incredible lineup of seasoned teachers from across Canada and the U.S., each bringing years of experience in yoga, movement, anatomy, and embodied wisdom.

Spanning October 2025 to August 2026, the program is delivered in a hybrid format—with both in-person sessions in Toronto and online workshops —offering flexibility while maintaining deep connection.

SOULGA YOGA & WELLNESS

Founded in 2019, Soulga Yoga & Wellness is a Turtle Island-based collective dedicated to uplifting racialized yoga teachers and wellness entrepreneurs. We empower and support wellness professionals by offering accessible, culturally relevant movement, mentorship, and educational experiences. Our mission is to rehsape the landscape of the wellness industry by investing the grwoth and thriving of racialized teachers. Soulga is led by Nya Daley & Tash Francesca.


DOWNWARD YOGA CENTRE

Downward Yoga Centre has been at the heart of Toronto’s yoga community for more than 27 years. They offer quality yoga instruction in classes that inform all levels of practice, from beginner to advanced. Their love of yoga encompasses challenging, high energy Vinyasa classes, reverence for the tradition of yoga, and a respect for innovative, modern approaches to functional movement, mobility, and stability. Downward Dog is owned by Karen Parucha.

This teacher training is for…

 
  • Individuals who have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training.

  • Those who are aligned with and committed to our core program values.

  • Participants who can attend at least 80% of the scheduled sessions. (You may miss one weekend, but will be required to make up the hours independently.)

  • People who feel comfortable learning and teaching in a virtual/hybrid environment.

Program format + DATES

The DWD-Soulga 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training runs from October 15, 2025 to August 30, 2026, blending immersive in-person learning with the flexibility of virtual sessions:

  • 11 in-person weekends in Toronto

  • Bi-weekly Wednesday evening virtual sessions (live on Zoom)

Each weekend includes a teaching practicum, where participants co-lead a class and receive supportive, constructive feedback from faculty and peers.

In addition to scheduled sessions, participants will complete:

  • Self-directed study and assignments

  • Assigned readings

  • Ongoing class attendance

  • Two co-taught community classes – one in person and one online

Our program is priced at $4,800, but take advantage of the early bird rate of $4,300 when you apply by July 15, 2025!

To secure your spot, a non-refundable $500 deposit is due upon acceptance. We offer flexible payment plans to make the program as accessible as possible—you’ll be able to explore the options after we receive your application.

Need a little extra support? We’re proud to offer partial scholarships to individuals who could use financial assistance. Just let us know in your application if you’d like to be considered!

Cancellation & Future Credit Policy

Life happens—we get it. If you need to cancel, we’ll issue a refund (minus the deposit) as long as you notify us before October 1, 2025. After that date, refunds won’t be available, but the good news is you can roll any payments you've made into a future cohort. Your investment stays with you.

  • 1. Who is this training designed for?
    This training is ideal for individuals who have already completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training and are seeking to deepen their practice, refine their teaching skills, and expand their knowledge. It’s also perfect for those who are aligned with our core values of inclusivity, anti-racism, and community-centered learning.

    2. What are the dates of the training?
    The program begins on October 15, 2025, and ends on August 30, 2026. It runs over 11 weekends in person, with bi-weekly Wednesday evening virtual sessions.

    3. How much time do I need to commit each month?
    The program requires attendance at 80% of scheduled sessions, which includes in-person weekends and bi-weekly virtual sessions. You will also need to dedicate time outside of scheduled sessions for self-directed study, readings, and teaching practicum assignments. Plan on dedicating 24-30 hours a month during the duration of the program

    4. Can I miss any sessions?
    You can miss up to one weekend during the program, but you will be required to make up the missed hours on your own time. Attendance at virtual sessions is mandatory, but they are designed to be flexible and accessible.

    5. Will sessions be recorded?
    Yes and No! Virtual sessions will be recorded and available for replay however our in-person weekends will NOT.

    6. What does the practicum involve?
    Each weekend includes a practicum where participants co-lead a class and receive constructive feedback. You will also teach two co-led community classes—one in person and one online—as part of your practicum experience.

    7. How are the classes delivered?
    This program is offered in a hybrid format, meaning there are both in-person weekends and live virtual sessions (via Zoom). This allows flexibility while maintaining a strong sense of community and connection.

    8. Do I need prior experience with teaching?
    While prior teaching experience is helpful, it is not required. The program will support you in learning to teach effectively in a live and virtual settings.

    9. Are there any scholarships available?
    Yes! We offer partial scholarships to individuals who need financial assistance. Please indicate your interest in a scholarship when filling out your application.

    11. Can you accommodate different learning styles and/or people who are differently abled?
    Yes, we are committed to supporting a variety of learning styles and abilities. However, please note that the studio has stairs and no elevator, so participants will need to be able to navigate the stairs. We will work with individuals to provide the best possible accommodations and support.
